No Cost PDF is designed to process PDFs in your browser.

Your PDF

When you choose a PDF, it is read locally by your browser. No account is required. The PDF remains on your device unless you turn on the optional Fillable form AI feature.

AI field detection

After a PDF opens, optional AI field detection can send the selected PDF through the No Cost PDF server, hosted with Firebase, to OpenAI for temporary field analysis. The server does not save a copy after the request, and the temporary OpenAI file is deleted after analysis. The AI returns field locations; your PDF editing continues in your browser.

Saved drafts and identity

If you choose Save draft, the draft is stored in this browser using IndexedDB. Saved initials and signatures are stored in this browser using local storage. These saved items are assigned a local-midnight expiry and are cleared by the app at local midnight or when an expired draft is detected the next time the app opens.

Downloads

When you download an edited PDF, your browser saves it to your normal download location. No Cost PDF cannot automatically remove files from that location.

Cookies and tracking

No Cost PDF does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or tracking cookies. Browser storage is used only for the local features described above.
